Barthelme at Light + Building 2018

Booth Barthelme

From 18 to 23 March 2018, Barthelme will present innovative lighting solutions for indoor and outdoor areas at Light + Building, the world's leading trade fair for lighting and building automation in Frankfurt. At Stand A 46 in Hall 4.1, Barthelme will focus on individual solutions based on extraordinary design aesthetics and optimally balanced LED technology.

Using LED lights in a needs-oriented manner will become increasingly important in the future. This not only saves energy and thus protects the environment, but also has a positive effect on people's well-being. We therefore need sustainable, efficient and networked solutions that can be integrated into a range of different environments. Barthelme offers a comprehensive LED construction kit consisting of LED strips, spotlights, profiles and lighting controls as well as complete lights and fully encapsulated light lines. This gives architects, lighting designers and electrical installers almost unlimited freedom in the design and implementation of comfortable, high-quality indoor and outdoor lighting solutions.

Efficient and versatile LED strips

Each application is unique and has different lighting requirements. For example, while the colour reproduction may be a high priority in sales rooms, efficiency is more important when it comes to permanently installed lighting in office buildings. For these and other lighting tasks, Barthelme will present a range of optimum solutions based on the further development of its LEDlight flex LED strip series. Consisting of the product groups PROFESSIONAL, HIGH EFFICIENCY, STANDARD, CONTROLLED WHITE, SLIM, COLOR and SIDEVIEW, the series now offers tailored performance, high light quality, diverse light colours and a long service life. The high-quality LED strips achieve a very high efficiency of up to 153 lm/W and a very good CRI Ra value of up to type 94.

Fully encapsulated LED light lines with IP 68 protection and a new RGBW version

As a pioneer in the field of fully encapsulated, flexible LED light lines, Barthelme will also present a real alternative to conventional linear luminaires with metal housings at Light + Building: the AQUALUC S:OLID rigid linear luminaire, which features a close-meshed polyurethane-ceramic compound housing, can be operated permanently under water and is extremely robust with an IK 10 impact protection rating. As with all products made by Barthelme, the AQUALUC S:OLID also offers a range of common colour temperatures. In addition, the existing, flexible light lines of the AQUALUC product family (AQUALUC W:AVE and AQUALUC C:URVE) with their low bending radii and homogeneous light emission surface will be presented as RGBW models for the first time in Frankfurt.

Aesthetic LED lights for outdoor use

Besides linear lighting solutions, Barthelme also develops and manufactures LED spotlights, wall washers and recessed floor lights at its in-house luminaire factory, combining premium technology with an elegant and restrained design. The “Made in Germany” LED lights are available in different sizes and configurations, and can thus be optimally designed for the intended purpose. At the Frankfurt trade fair, multiple product families, including the Verona, Pisa and Bergamo lines, will be integrated into the company’s brand-new stand concept.

Vision becomes reality

Barthelme has been converting its customers’ wishes and ideas into finished products for many years — from the planning and choice of individual components, such as LED strips, LED profiles, sensor technology, the type of casing and accessories to the actual manufacturing process. Visitors to the company's trade fair stand will be able to learn about the various available options and take a close-up look at specific products, including lighting solutions featuring powder-coated cases, leather covers and designer films.

New LED profiles for different applications

As well as high-quality electronic components, Barthelme offers a variety of LED profiles that not only optimally align the lights, but also ensure highly effective heat dissipation — and thus open up diverse installation options for impressive lighting concepts. At Light + Building, visitors to the Barthelme stand will have the opportunity to learn more about the company’s extensive product range, including several new products made from aluminium, such as the BARdolino R mini. With a diameter of only 13.9 mm, this round LED profile is particularly well suited to mounting on shelves. In addition, the new CATania 30 TB drywall profile and the flush-mounted CATania 30 UP profile offer new design possibilities. Unlike T-profiles, these can be installed flush, with almost no visible edge, in both ceilings and walls. As an option, Barthelme offers a matching power supply housing for the CATania 30 UP, which can be flanged directly to one end of the profile. As a result, the power supply can also be integrated directly into walls. A power supply can also be integrated into the new CATania 4050 pendant luminaire profile. In addition, the profile of the CATania series is designed so that it can also be used as a canopy.

Neuheiten auf der Light & Building

The new CATania 30 TB can be integrated into drywall walls and ceilings flush and almost without visible edges. Due to the flat profile design, there is no need to consider the substructure during installation.

The flush-mounted profile CATania 30 UP can be integrated as an independent luminaire flush and with virtually no visible edge into carcass walls or can be used as a supporting profile to expand the area of application for the BARdolino T. Barthelme optionally offers a suitable power supply housing.

The new CATania 4050 can be used flexibly as a surface-mounted or pendulum profile. A suitable power supply unit can be integrated directly into the housing. Alternatively, the profile can also be used as a canopy for linear luminaires.

Convenient light management

In the field of lighting management, Barthelme now presents a new generation of its successful CHROMOFLEX series — the networkable CHROMOFLEX V radio control unit with flicker-free control. Multiple LED controllers from this series can communicate with each other through so-called “meshing”. Any controller can serve as a Wi-Fi access point and, together with the other controllers, can create its own network via Bluetooth Low Energy. The home network’s wireless router always sees only one Wi-Fi node, regardless of the number of installed devices. The light management therefore places no unnecessary burden on the router, yet the programming can still be rolled out centrally from one computer to all devices in the Bluetooth network.

In addition to the CHROMOFLEX V, Barthelme is also introducing a new remote control that can be used to operate even complex light installations — users can control up to four light zones separately via a single control unit. The high-quality anodised aluminium housing has a pleasant feel and features a high-class glass surface with capacitive buttons. A built-in accelerometer ensures energy-efficient operation as the device automatically switches to standby mode when put down, which significantly increases the running time of the fixed 700 mAh rechargeable battery. The remote control can be quickly recharged via a USB Type C port. In addition, a status LED informs the user about the remote’s current settings at all times.
