Making new from old

Students from the University of Applied Sciences Hof developed lamps made of PET bottles for the Coburg Design Days. In this way they breathe new life into an actual plastic waste product and make it a design object. For their upcycling project, the students used LED spotlights from the particularly compact Bari series. The light from the LED spots shines through the bottom of the blue plastic bottles and casts floral shadows on the bottom.

From 29 May to 3 June, Coburg is an attraction for design lovers in the region and beyond. At the 30th Coburg Design Days, visitors can expect a colourful programme covering all aspects of design and innovation. The historic freight station offers the ideal ambience for this. While the old parcel hall serves as an exhibition space, the surrounding open spaces offer exciting insights into exterior design and urban gardening.
